EYFS Manager, Congresbury Community Preschool
Congresbury Community Preschool is a thriving village setting, with two premises on the St Andrew’s Primary School site. We’re a registered charity, run by a committee of parents and volunteers alongside our dedicated team of qualified early years practitioners. We believe that by providing a caring, safe and happy environment early on, we can create the best foundations for children to flourish.
As a rural setting we place real importance on close connections with the local community, enabling as many families as we can to benefit from a good early years foundation. With a relatively high proportion of children with complex social, educational and emotional needs, we’re looking for you to bring your expertise to help drive great outcomes for all our children, who are the future of our village.
Are you passionate about children reaching their potential?
You’ll be working alongside our talented Business Manager, whose remit includes financial and back office management. This means you can focus your skills and passion on what you do best - enabling children to achieve their potential. In this dual aspect role, you’ll spend around half your time managing the setting and still have opportunity to work closely in ratio with the children for the remainder.
As the EYFS Manager, your remit is to lead and support our EYFS staff in planning and delivering high quality education and care. Accountabilities will include:
Implementing curriculum plans, monitoring their effectiveness and continually improving them
Ensuring all policies and procedures, including safeguarding, safety, hygiene and health are adhered to
Building and developing relationships with parents/carers, the community and local authority
Working collaboratively with staff, the committee and the charity trustees to ensure the setting is effectively managed and operated.
What can you bring to the role?
As well as being a dedicated and professional EYFS practitioner, it’s essential that you have:
Proven experience within an early years setting, with a L3 early years education and childcare qualification (or equivalent) and up to date safeguarding training (min level 3)
Supervisory experience gained within a ‘Good’ (or above) setting, which includes managing the performance and/or development of others
Ability to plan and implement a pre-school curriculum, taking into account the SEN Code of Practice, safeguarding, child protection procedures and equal opportunities and inclusion considerations
Sound knowledge and understanding of child development and children’s needs, including special needs
The skills and capability to be a leader and the desire to share your expertise with our team
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively, whilst fostering an inclusive, collaborative and team working environment across the two sites.
And in return?
We’re offering a 28 hour, 4 day p/w contract, term time only and the chance to focus your time and energy on the EYFS aspects of managing a great setting. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. As you’d expect, you’ll be subject to an enhanced DBS check and referencing prior to joining us.
So if you’d like the opportunity to bring new ideas, shape our future and make a real difference to the children and families within our community, we’d love to hear from you.
See below for a detailed job description. Please send your completed application and DBS forms to firstname.lastname@example.org
Closing date: Monday 20th July. Interviews will be held via video-conference.
We’re committed to continuously promoting and ensuring a culture of safeguarding, equal opportunities, equality, diversity and inclusion
